Mail rules restrictions

Reported by Des Dougan | April 19th, 2017 @ 04:40 AM

Mail rules appear to be restricted (in the Run Command option) to the Commands available in the main menu. Is it possible to call an AppleScript in the rules? I want to print a specific mail message when received but don't see a way of automating it. Overall, the ability to call external scripts would be of benefit.

If this is not currently possible, please consider as a feature request.

Thanks, Benny.

It's only possible by creating a custom bundle with custom commands. In that case, you can use any kind of scripting language.

What's really lacking here is an easy way to create such a custom bundle (or at least proper instructions on how to do so). You are welcome to request that and maybe I'll finally do it :)

First shot at documenting how to create bundles.
