Markdown "jumps" when inserting first tag
Reported by Ingo Lantschner | April 18th, 2017 @ 09:43 AM
When typing
* Do you have
below a quote (or may be inside of an already exiting text), I often get the result as seen on the attachment.
Then I have to set the curser back to the right side of the *, delete the line-break, insert a blank and finally get what I wanted (second screenshot, Markdown is rendered). From here in I can edit the message as expected.
Any idea what causes this?

This is a side-effect of having the preview on the right (it doesn't happen when it's below). It happens when MailMate goes from non-Markdown to Markdown mode. It is, of course, a bug.

It's related to the text being reflowed when the preview is enabled. Even though I've fixed it now, there is a chance that it'll make other bugs more visible. If there are other bugs related to reflowing then there might be spurious insertions of an underline character :) Report them and then I'll fix that too.

Thanks Benny! I changed in the meantime to show the preview on the bottom, since this had the advantage of having a fixed width of the window - regardless of the messages formatting. But I will report once I see these underscores.
