Double-click to search: unexpected behavior
Reported by Sam T | December 1st, 2016 @ 05:41 AM
Whenever I double-click on a message to search for similar messages, Mailmate always jumps to a specific mailbox. This is not expected behavior, as I always have to click back to the mailbox I was in when I initiated the search. For example, in my "Inbox" mailbox, I double-click on "LinkedIn" in the "From" column to search for similar messages from LinkedIn. But Mailmate jumps into a different mailbox, mailbox "X", when it applies the search. Now I have to click back into "Inbox" to get to the results I want. The only time this isn't an issue is when I'm already in mailbox "X", which isn't often.
I have MailMate installed on another computer and the functionality works as expected there. Wondering if I could have some corrupt preferences, or is there perhaps some deeper setting that I'm missing?
Thanks,
Sam

The setting can be found in the popup menu of the search field. Look for “Default Mailbox ▸ Current Mailbox”. You probably found this on the other machine. Also note that holding down ⌥ reverses the behavior in most search contexts, e.g., when clicking on a message header.
Let me know if this does not help.

Indeed, I must have changed it at some point and then forgotten all about it. Thanks for the tip, and for making this excellent app!
