If the email includes GIF, huge CPU usage and slow scrolling

Some newsletter includes GIFs in their email and it would cause MailMate to eat up a lot of CPU constantly until I switch to a different email.
Here's the spin file:

MailMate uses an Apple framework to display emails and doesn't really “parse” the GIF itself. This might mean that there's not much I can do about it. You are welcome to send me an example email via “Help ▸ Send Feedback” and I can at least see if I can reproduce the issue. Just drag the example email into the body of the composer window.

So, does that mean no option to disable gif animation either?
Sent the email with the "Re: Ticket #1552" subject.

I could reproduce it with your email.
As far as I can see there is no way to tell the Webview to stop GIF animations. The only workaround is probably to block loading/displaying all gif images which I think would be too aggressive.
Maybe unsubscribe the newsletter and let them know why :)
