Initial message failure since update
Reported by John Nimis | September 22nd, 2016 @ 10:28 PM
Since the last update, pretty much all of my sent messages prompt the following error:
Failed to send message
Hostname unresolved
Tip: Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0) before retrying.
The SMTP log file might provide additional information.
If I click "Retry" it usually works right away, but I always get this error first.

- State changed from new to fixcommitted
Try the latest test release: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane. Based on a report from another user I changed something which might also solve your problem.

Thanks for this - I'm getting a new error now:
Unexpected return code 550 (expected 250):
“5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender”. -

This should only happen if you use an email address as From address which does not belong to the same account as used for the SMTP server.
In order to generate more detailed log files you can do as follows:
- Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0).
- Attempt to send an email.
- Use “Help ▸ Send Server Logs”.
This naturally assumes that you have an account which can send messages or that you have an alternative email client configured.
You can also use “Help ▸ Send Feedback” to send me your configuration files if you like:
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Sources.plist ~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Submission.plist ~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Identities.plist
