end-to-end encryption for Emails using MailMate

I would like to add end-to-end email encryption using either Open PGP or the newer product ProtonMail. Will either or both of these programs work with MailMate?

MailMate supports OpenPGP (see the Security preferences pane). (I think ProtonMail is a closed system, but I might be wrong.)
