drafted mails cannot be opened/edited/sent

Dear all
I am working on a mac with os 1.9.5 and MailMate 1.9.4. and noticed
that I can't edit emails from my 'drafts' folder. Those drafted
messages can't either be opened, nor sent (right-click >
"send"). This renders the draft-feature quite useless. Is this a
known bug or somethin characteristic only for my system?
Any help much appreciated.
