Rule to Redirect not working with Office 365; No option to forward instead

Reported by TJH | March 21st, 2016 @ 01:09 PM

I would like to use a rule to auto-forward certain messages to a coworker. I set up a rule using redirect (the only obvious option) and the rule runs, but the redirect fails with Office 365. The activity monitor seems to indicate that MailMate attempts to connect, but returns the following error: "Unexpected return code 550 (expected 250): '5.7.60 SMTP; client does not have permissions to send as this sender' "

Is there an option to forward instead of redirect?

No, currently only “redirect” is available for rules. The error message you get indicates that their might be a MailMate bug or a server bug. Looking at my code it seems I do the right thing, but we could/should verify that. If you open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0) before sending then you can get more of the log than the last line. You can send that to me using “Help ▸ Send Feedback” or “Help ▸ Send Server Logs”.

Some day I'll add a forward rule as well, but right now MailMate isn't good enough at (inline) forwarding HTML emails. I have to improve that first and I'm actively working on it.
