Mass creating of Rules
Reported by Santosh Angadi | March 9th, 2016 @ 09:13 PM
I am creating Tags automatically to the emails as they fall into certain Rules.
Ex: I look for From contains with domain names and then tag them in Rules
plenti.com, cvs.com walgreen.com all are tagged with General
Tag
mosnter.com dice.com indeed.com linkedin.com are tagged with Jobs
Tag
Bankofamerica.com, chase.com citibankna.com are tagged with
BankeAlerts Tag
Now if I have similarly 50 other domains which I want to assign Tag General, I don't want to be manually adding a Rule to each domain. Is there a File I can edit instead. Any other better method you suggest I am open to adopt.
Thanks
Santosh

If you quit MailMate then you can edit this file:
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist
Alternatively, you could have an Inbox rule which says something like this:
Condition: From ▸ Domain is in [General Mailbox] From ▸ Domain Action: Set Tag [General]
The mailbox “General Mailbox” is a smart mailbox with all emails tagged General.
The purpose of this is that whenever you tag an email General manual then all future emails from the same domain should automatically get the same tag.
I hope this makes sense :-)
