Tooltip over hovering link shows wrong URL

Reported by Thomas Borowski | February 15th, 2016 @ 04:17 PM

When I hover over a link in an HTML email, the tooltip that appears is kind of distorted and shows the wrong URL. In the attachted screenshot the URL in the tooltip is actually the URL of the last link I clicked instead of the URL that's behind the unsubscribe link in the email.

Does this happen with the latest test release of MailMate (hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane). If it does, then I would like to reproduce with the related email. Use “Help ▸ Send Feedback” and attach the email.

Still shows the URL of the last hyperlink I clicked in 1.9.4 (5224), but the tooltips are not distorted anymore.

    • State changed from “new” to “cantreproduce”

    I guess that's progress :-)

Does this happen for all links in all HTML messages. I cannot reproduce it using the HTML email notification from this ticket.

Yes, it appears to happen with all HTML emails. Right now it's showing a red bar on hovering a link, which is an "interesting" change from the distorted gray bar ;) It reverts back to a gray bar when I restart MM. I should mention that my MacBook was asleep and it's possible that this red bar thing only started after waking up again. Anyway, the gray bar still shows the URL of the last link I clicked instead of the one I'm hovering.

Which version of OS X are you using?

You can disable 2.0 features in the General preferences pane to disable this feature. It's currently the only thing affected by this setting.

(The red color is related to a displayed link not really matching the actual link, but it's of course not supposed to be a blank red bar.)
