#1389 ✓fixreleased

A '<' character in the sender's name causes problems

Reported by Antti Vähä-Sipilä | January 24th, 2016 @ 08:37 PM

I have received email from a person whose name in email headers had a "heart" emoticon, <3, as follows:

"Firstname <3 Lastname"

If I reply to this message, sending fails with

"Failed to send message. No receivers specified in message."

I came across this when responding with Reply All to a message where one of the recipients had this; that specific recipient's email address was truncated into just Firstname in the headers saved in Sent Messages.

I believe this is a bug in the sending email client. At least I could only reproduce it if the name part was unquoted (which is not allowed in this case).

Nevertheless, I've hardcoded a workaround for this and similar problems.
