Can I transfer Smart Folders from one instance of MailMate to an other?

Reported by Urs Willi | January 16th, 2016 @ 12:07 AM

I couldn't find information about this problem: I bought a new Mac. Installed all my apps. MailMate works fine on the new machine, but all my SmartFolders are gone. Since I invested quite a bit of time in creating all these conditions I wonder if there is a way to transfer Smart Folders from one Mac to an other? I tried to replace the MailMate folder in the Application Support directory in the Library with that from the old Mac, without any effect, i.e. still no SmartFolders. I would be grateful for any idea.

In theory, moving the app support folder should have worked. To be more exact, you need to copy this file:

    ~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist

Note that MailMate must not be running when you do this.
