MailMate freezes while reading some emails

While trying to open one of quite old email (>1 year long) MailMate freezes.
Trying to open it once again causes MailMate to freeze once again.
I'm not sure what information to attach, bit this is what OS X
proposes to send to Apple:

It looks like MailMate hangs when trying to decrypt/verify an OpenPGP message. Depending on your settings this can involve looking for key(s) on a key server -- and that might hang. I believe this can be configured in GPGPreferences. It's not controlled by MailMate itself.
(Ideally, MailMate would not hang when the external commands hangs, but that's the way it currently works.)
