Mailbox will not delete correctly

Reported by Farid Najm | January 4th, 2016 @ 06:34 PM

I'm using MailMate Version 1.9.3 (5187) for Mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.2, running on a Mac Pro (late 2013).

When I delete a mailbox (even if it's empty), or when I move a mailbox which then triggers a deletion of the original mailbox, I find that the mailbox continues to appear in the MailMate sidebar and says "(failed)" in front of the name. However, when I check with Apple Mail I find that the mailbox has actually been deleted from the server. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,
Farid.

I believe it clears up if you relaunch MailMate (and maybe also if explicitly synchronizing the account).

Does this always happen when you delete/move mailboxes?

(Hmm, I'm having a problem deleting an IMAP mailbox in one of my accounts -- it might be a related issue. I did not have problems moving an IMAP mailbox, but something needs to be fixed.)

I have relaunched MailMate and yes it has cleared up. I guess that is one sort of a "solution" :) but it would be nice to figure out why it happens and fix it. Thanks.

Yes, that's why I asked if it happens every time for you. That is, is the problem reproducible?

I have seen it before, but I haven't found a reproducible scenario where the problem happens every time. I will let you know if I find one. In the mean time, feel free to close this ticket.

Thanks. It might be some kind of race condition, that is, it happens randomly. It'll be good enough if you can make it happen relatively often since then the issue can be debugged.
