Messages not archived on GMail

Reported by Marco Rovere | November 30th, 2015 @ 09:15 AM

Dear all,
after the last upgrade to Version 1.9.3 (5187), I noticed that when I archive an email in MailMate, the action is not correctly propagated to GMail. The message is correctly flagged as Seen, but it is not moved to the [Gmail]/Archive folder.
Everything was working ok before the upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.
A typical snippet from the Activity Viewer looks like this:

09:14:47 C: H75 UID STORE 361807 +FLAGS.SILENT (\Seen)
09:14:47 S: * 17682 FETCH (UID 361807 MODSEQ (37637429) FLAGS (\Seen))
09:14:47 S: H75 OK Success
09:14:47 C: H76 UID FETCH 361807 (FLAGS)
09:14:47 S: * 17682 FETCH (UID 361807 MODSEQ (37637429) FLAGS (\Seen))
09:14:47 S: H76 OK Success
09:14:47 Completed action (1007). Observed read/write timeouts: 8/8

If you look under SOURCES in the mailbox list, do you then see any issues with the “[Gmail]/Archive” folder? (Maybe it's greyed out.)

Indeed it was greyed out. Now that I put it back online, everything seems to be ok. Out of curiosity, is this a new feature? I never had to do this action before.

Thanks for the very prompt feedback.

    Ciao,
    Marco.

    • State changed from “new” to “cantreproduce”

Single mailboxes have always had this ability, but it shouldn't happen automatically without first displaying some kind of error to the user. Do you remember what the state of the mailbox was? (The word in parenthesis of the greyed out mailbox.)

    Ciao,
the main [Gmail] folder was greyed out with the [offline] label and I put it back online (right click -> Take '[Gmail]' Online), but this action was not propagated to the underlying [Gmail]/Archive folder.
