Request: vi navigation keys for message and folder lists

I would find it much easier to use the vi nav keys (j=down k=up h=left l=right) for navigating the folder list and message list.
Google supports those same keys for traversing email messages in Gmail, articles in Reader, etc.
Currently it looks like unmodified qwerty input is used to pick something that starts with that letter.
I don't dislike that or anything, but reaching for the arrow keys is surprisingly uncomfortable (for me).

This would be pretty non-standard for a Cocoa program. I'm not even
quite sure how hard it would be to implement. I do agree that the
default usage of non-modifier keys is close to useless, so I do not
really oppose the idea.Note that the space key can be used to scroll forwards or to skip to the
next message. It may save you from some of the “reaching”.[state:accepted]

It may fit in better to use emacs-style control-n/control-p since that is what Cocoa apps seem to use for things like that?
I prefer the vi-style personally but the emacs-style probably makes more sense.
