Cannot close Mailmate window
Reported by Corto Maltese | November 5th, 2015 @ 04:02 PM
Ok, so it wasn’t very smart to copy e-mail addresses from an excel file to mailmate’s bcc field in order to send an invitation to a lot of people at the same time. Mailmate wouldn’t let me do it anyway but what it did is: it froze the message window, telling me it failed to send the message. I can shut Mailmate down, I can restart the computer, I can even minimize the window, but I can’t get rid of the damn message window – as seen in the screenshot I’ve attached.
I’ve pretty much exhausted my efforts of trying to shut this window. Can anybody tell me what to do? Help would be much appreciated. The ever-open window does not diminish the functionality of Mailmate, it’s simply annoying.
Thanks.

I think you can hit “⌘.” (this should trigger cancelling sending the message). Then you can close the window and delete the draft.
Let me know if that does not work. I'll note that I should shorten the list of addresses in the window when this happens and I'll track progress on that in this ticket.

Unfortunately, ⌘. didn't work. Weirdly, the e-mail isn’t even in the drafts folder anymore (if I open a new viewer window).
Thanks for any future suggestions.

Try the latest test release: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane. You should get r5166.

I did download the latest release (r5166) but Mailmate wouldn’t relaunch. It just kept showing the "relaunching" dialog window forever. Then I quit Mailmate, restarted it, and the r5166 version was installed but the window is still there and won't go away. I tried ⌘., but to no avail.
Thanks for any future suggestions.

Could you try again (hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane). A new screenshot would be nice. You can send it using “Help ▸ Send Feedback” if you don't want the email addresses to be seen online. (I'll delete the original screenshot.)

The fix has resolved the issue after manually getting rid of the original error message.
