Displayed Count - Apple Mail behavior

Reported by Stefan Doehla | September 9th, 2015 @ 09:38 AM

Hi Benny, I'd like start by saying thank you very much for your dedication to MailMate.

In the myriads of options that MailMate has I might have missed it, but I found no combination of options that replicates the count behavior of Mail.app, which is
- include count of submailboxes if submailboxes are collapsed - do not count submailboxes if the submailboxes are expanded

This is actually quite sensible behavior to me, as I often have some unread mails, but actually don't know in which submailbox they are. My nested mailbox structure is also often not fully expanded and then it's hard to find the right submailbox. Including submailboxes is of course a way to solve this, but then if the submailboxes are expanded one has to ignore the parent mailbox count to find out where the unread mails are.

Thanks again for MailMate - I'm still learning, so please forgive me if I couldn't see the obvious knobs. I should add that this ticket is no major bug but rather something I found convenient as a previous Mail.app user.

There is currently no way to do this. I'm pretty sure there is an existing request for it, but I cannot seem to locate it (so I'm not blaming you for not finding it either). I'll keep this ticket open.
