Stop smart quotes!
Reported by Charles Sutton | August 25th, 2015 @ 10:20 AM
I do not want smart quotes and dashes to be used in the Composer when I write a new message. In the global Mac System Settings, I have unchecked Keyboard > Text > Use smart quotes and dashes. However, when I create a new message, I am still getting smart quotes. I realise that I can right click in the message and uncheck Substitutions > Smart Quotes. When I do this the smart quotes stop. But I do not want to do this every time I compose a new message --- I want this option to be unchecked by default. Is there any way to do this (e.g., another setting that I am missing?).

No, there is a bug related to this. If you fetch the latest beta then I believe it should work. See the Software Update preferences pane.
Let me know if it doesn't fix the issue for you.
