It looks like showing the password requester fails (it's handled by
gpg2
and not by MailMate itself). Where did you get the version number? I get this:> /usr/local/MacGPG2/bin/gpg2 --version gpg (GnuPG/MacGPG2) 2.0.28 libgcrypt 1.6.3 ...
(I believe this is the latest release.)

Ok, so we are on the same version and I've verified that the password requester works for me.
It'll probably be easier to debug if it can be reproduced from the command line. MailMate has a debug mode (
MmDebugSecurity
) in which allgpg2
commands are dumped, but it's a bit verbose. Essentially, this is what happens when signing:echo "test" | gpg2 --no-verbose --batch --no-tty --openpgp --status-fd 2 --digest-algo SHA1 --textmode --armor --local-user "<foobar@example.com>" --detach-sign
This triggers the password requester for me. Could you try the same with your email address and see if you get the password requester?
(Make sure
gpg2 --version
is also the MacGPG2 version ofgpg2
.) -

Problem resolved after a reboot.
I also noticed that the MacOSX security settings on my Mac have changed because I could no longer start Mailmate because of Gatekeepter settings. -

Glad it was resolved for now although I'm always a bit wary about problems resolved by rebooting.
(Hmm, Gatekeeper would usually not be triggered except if redownloading MailMate.)
