Key Binding navigation and focus

Reported by Robert Black | July 2nd, 2015 @ 04:35 AM

I tried submitting this last night, but my submission was flagged as spam, I assume because of the web link. I've removed the protocol from it, so you'll need to copy and paste it to view the video...

My set up:

OS X Yosemite 10.10.4
MailMate 1.9.1 (5084)

What I’ve done:

I've set up a custom Key Binding to navigate to several mailboxes. e.g. "^1" = ( "goToMailbox:", "INBOX" );

What Happens:

My custom Key Bindings work, in that hitting Control-1 navigates to my INBOX. However, keyboard navigation between mailboxes isn't reliable subsequent to this action. Sometimes the mailbox I've navigated to is highlighted, and I can use the up/down cursor keys to move between mailboxes - sometimes it's not highlighted, and I can't use the keyboard to switch. Also, sometimes I can move between mailboxes, but then hitting the Tab key to switch focus to the list of messages may or may not work.

Although I'm using the Key Bindings to do this navigation, I'm seeing the exact same random failure after I use the Command-T 'Go to Mailbox...' menu command.

What I had Expected to Happen:

Ideally, I'd like to navigate to another mailbox using either a custom Key Binding or the 'Go to Mailbox...' menu command, AND, the destination mailbox is reliably selected allowing me to both navigate between mailboxes using the cursor keys, AND press the Tab once to switch focus to the message list of the currently selected mailbox, allowing me to navigate between messages without having to use my mouse.

Here's a short video demonstrating what I mean: s3.robertblack.com.au/MailMate-7NtPVs/MailMate.mp4

Cheers
Robert

    For now, this is how I'm working around this issue: s3.robertblack.com.au/Screen-Shot-2015-07-03-at-1.51.49-pm-sx7vzC

    But it would be nice to have this resolved natively, especially with the 'Go to Mailbox...' menu command.
