Exported email should have OS X system Tag

Maybe I'm alone out there but I regularly archive my emails off to a separate application (Devon Think for example) rather than leave all my email on the email server. As such, I have carefully tagged my emails within MailMate but when I export (drag them off to the desktop...) I find my tags are not there in the Finder Get Info window.
It would be great to take whatever tags are used within MailMate and transform them into the OS X equivalent when exporting.
