Suggestion: Tag all messages in a conversation

When messages are grouped in a conversation, and their display is collapsed (only top message showing), it is not possible to tag all messages in that conversation simultaneously. One has to unfold the message hierarchy, select all messages, and then bulk tag. Would be nice if it was possible to select the top message in a folded conversation, and have all messages tagged simultaneously.
Similarly, it would be nice if one could apply other action to all messages within a folded conversation. For example, archive all of them at once.
