Hierarchical setting of online/offline status
Reported by Paul | May 5th, 2015 @ 02:09 AM
I think it'd be useful for the online/offline status of mailboxes to be settable according to the mailbox hierarchy, for instance in the following way:
-
If a mailbox is selected and "collapsed" then changing the offline/offline setting will propoaate to all mailboxes beneath it.
-
If it is expanded then the change will only apply to the mailbox itself.
Would that make sense?
Thanks,

Actually, this request is more about the "select" functionality in the Mailboxes column, than about online/offline status specifically.
The same functionality would work and be handy for other mailbox operations like "Edit" (to change settings across the whole group of mailboxes), and "Synchronise".
Also, since you have this very nice feature of being able to index and view the content of multiple selected mailboxes, this is a great way to be able to easily view the contents of all mailboxes below a given point in the mailbox hierarchy.
Thanks,
Paul.

With respect to online/offline then I guess that would work if I added “and Submailboxes” to the menu item when it's collapsed (to make it less confusing/implicit). Doing something similar for “Edit ...” would be very tricky and wouldn't make much sense for most of the current settings. “Synchronize” is similar to online/offline.

Sure, either way.
BTW I notice that is I select multuple mailboxes manually, the context menu works properly for online/offline but it does not seem to work for "mark all messages as read". Looks like a bug.
Thanks,
