Attachments not displayed in inbound email message
Reported by Des Dougan | February 7th, 2015 @ 08:40 PM
I received an email from a service provider with attachments (CSV file, PDF, GIF); in MailMate, the message does not show as having any attachments. Mail.app, my webmail (Horde) and Outlook 2013 on Windows all show that the message includes attachments. The attachments are not corrupted in any way.
If you would like the message for diagnostic purposes, let mew know.
Thanks,
Des

Thanks, I would certainly like to see it. You can use “Message ▸ Forward as Attachment”. You can also edit the raw message if you like if you need to remove sensitive data. It is the structure of the message which is likely to be important.

Thanks for the example.
It's a wrongly structured message. It tells MailMate that it has an HTML body part and some related resources to be used by the HTML body part, e.g., to display an image/logo inline. The problem is that the HTML body part does not reference the related resources :-(
In this case I was able to work around it, because (some of) the related resources did not have an identifier and therefore couldn't be referenced at all. I've inserted a check for this. (Even better would be to check if the HTML body part actually references the resource even if they have identifiers, but I'll wait doing that until seeing a message which exhibits this problem.)
