Unexpected return code 421

I'm having trouble with my connection to my outlook (exchange)
server — it's a university account. Several times a day for
the last few days I get the following error message when I try to
send (or reply to) a message.
Unexpected return code 421 (expected 235):
“4.3.2 Service not active”.
It asks me to enter the password (again), but that doesn't solve the problem. After selecting "try later", the message will eventually go out from my drafts folder.
This is a new issue which just started two or three days ago. I've been using MailMate for several months.

“Service not active” appears to be a SMTP server problem. I think you should ask your IT department about it and then let me know if they claim it is somehow triggered by the behavior of MailMate.
