Mail sync to slow - can take days

Hi,
I have a about 7 email accounts configured,including hotmail, gmail and several namecheap managed e-mail accounts. The symptoms we are seeing is that when receiving e-mails it sometimes they are no seen in mailmate for days. Normally if we close the app completely it will force a re-sync and the mail will be download, however trying to manually sync the mail is hit and miss. Sometime we will send a test e-mail to all accounts, it will be received in 2 accounts, but not the others.
likewise when sending e-mails, the email will get stuck in draft, and wont get send until we do a full restart of the app.
Everything else seems to work nicely, but this sync issue is a show stopper for us.
Mailmate and all mac software are up to date.

Are the accounts fully synchronized, that is, have all spinners stopped? You can also see this in the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0) in which all activity should stop and each account should have one open connection with the IDLE command.
How many messages are in the accounts in total (estimate)?
Problems with sending emails indicate a flaky server connection. This might be handled a bit better in the 64 bit beta which I recommend trying in any case (it'll also make debugging easier).
