MailMate crashed and won't reopen

I bought MailMate a few hours ago and successfully installed to accounts.
The problem is Mailmate just suddenly quit and there seems to be no way I can reopen it. I wasn't doing anything special when it happened… I turned off the computer and reopened it again, but no way, it won't reopen.
I sent the crash report already.
Could you please tell me what I should do? Thanks a lot in advance.

Sorry about your trouble (and thanks for the purchase). I'll do what I can to help.
First, could you launch MailMate from a Terminal window (if you know how). That should provide some kind of error message:
/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate
Do you have any antivirus software installed? (I've seen issues in the past with antivirus software moving files without MailMate knowing it -- MailMate then aborts due to an unexpected state.)

Hi Benny,
Thanks for your quick answer. Here is what I tried to do:1) tried to launch MailMate from a Terminal window, but without success. Here is the message I've got:

-bash: /Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate: No such file or directory itMacBookPro14:~ indira$2) tried to quit SpamSieve, which I use as antivirus, but still no way to launch MailMate.
3) redownloaded MailMate, and got the attached crash report.
Hope this can help to solve the matter.

You need to alter the line to where you have MailMate installed. If it's in the user applications folder then it's like this:
~/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate

I wasn't thinking of a spam filter, but some kind of antivirus software monitoring all files on your disk.

I can tell you how to start over, but I'm afraid the problem is going to return (based on this crash report). Let me know the answer to item 2 before you try starting over.
For the record, you can start over by deleting/removing the following folder:
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/
You may need help locating
~/Library

So I deleted the folder MailMate in Application Support and restarted the whole process. Now it works.
- Done, please see attached picture.
- I have ClamX Sentry working in the background.
- Yes, I'am afraid too. What other steps should I take to avoid it?

Ok, ClamX is very likely the problem. Try to see if you can find a setting where you can tell it to skip/ignore this folder:
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Messages
There is already an open ticket tracking progress on handling this problem more gracefully, but I'm still not sure how to best do that. You can read my thoughts on the subject in that ticket.
