Semicolon and comma change compose fields

When I'm in the To field in the compose window, and I type either a semicolon or comma, my cursor goes to the next (Subject) field. This is a problem because most of my text expansions start with a semicolon. I looked in the keybinding files, but didn't see those keys used. Is there a way to prevent that?
