Download icon in message inoperative

In any MailMate message, clicking the download icon next to an attachment has no effect. (The Quick Look icon does work.)

Attachments can be saved to the desktop by dragging the icon.

MailMate 6014 running under Sonoma 14.3.1.

    I cannot reproduce using the latest download available: https://updates.mailmate-app.com/archives/MailMate_r6023.tbz

    What if you hold down the option key? (Which allows you to choose a destination folder.)

    Also check your default downloads setting in the General settings pane of MailMate. Maybe there's an issue with that.

    Downloads folder seemed to be correctly set to Desktop, but re-selecting Desktop from the Default Downloads Folder menu solved the problem. Thanks for checking, and please close the ticket.

    Ok, so there's probably some kind of bug in play here. I'll keep it in mind.

    If anyone sees this ticket having the same problem then please contact me. I'd like to get some debug output before resetting the popup.

    Hypothesis: the invalid (but valid-looking) Desktop folder in the download location preferences was carried over from a previous computer. I got a new MacBook a few months ago and copied the settings over manually. What appeared as "Desktop" in the preferences may have mapped to a path that is invalid on the current machine.

    I have no way to test this or to see what the folders in the download location preferences actually map to, but this seems intuitively right to me.
