Filter by Contact Note Field

I'm looking for a way to filter by a contact's note field.
I've read #237 but I can't get the contact group filter to work for me with lists or smart lists.
I do have tags such as in my contacts' note fields.
I know MailMate conditions can see my contacts.
From >> Contacts exists : Shows emails from people in my
contacts. From >> Contacts does not exist: Shows emails from
people not in my contacts.
I have the text "Business" in some contacts' note field.
I'd like a From >> Contacts >> Note contains Business condition.

- State changed from “new” to “accepted”
This is not currently possible (I have a note about making more contact values available for conditions), but do you need it if we can figure out why #237 does not work for you?

If I can get #237 to work with Smart Lists, then this request can go on the back burner.
