Can I create table using markdown

Dear Team MailMate:

I used "|" in hope for creating a table but realized that "|" is only supported in MultiMarkdown rather than in Markdown. Am I correct? Is there any other way I can create a table using Markdown you support?

    MailMate supports the tables supported by the sundown utility which is used for the conversion. For example, this should work:

    Header|Header
------|------
This  |That
This  |That

    This is the PHP Markdown style which is not as advanced as MultiMarkdown, but the basics are the same I believe.
