Import account issue

Reported by Des Dougan | December 28th, 2021 @ 05:25 PM

Benny,

I'm running Version 1.14 (5852), which I installed a few days ago. I noticed in the release notes your comment re. OAuth2 support for O365 accounts. I thought the easiest way to add would be to set the account up in Internet Accounts and import into MailMate; however, when I attempt this, the Exchange account doesn’t show on the list of available accounts to be imported.

Can I add the account manually (presumably as IMAP)? Do you plan to support ActiveSync in MM?

I've not migrated my main account to O365 so far because I enjoy using MM so much.

Thanks,

Des

First of all, MailMate can only handle IMAP and that's unlikely to change. Also, the account importer might have failed anyways since it tends to break with macOS updates and it's likely I'll have to remove it completely (replacing it with better/easier account setup).

The good news is that OAuth2 should work with Office365 accounts although it might depend on what is allowed by your specific IT department. The IMAP/SMTP settings needed can be found here.

Let me know if this does not help.
