Newline not showing up in preview or sent mail

I am using version 5820 and started to notice that sometimes when I am replying to a new email or sometimes writing a new email the newlines are being removed. If I put in double newlines, then it sometimes translates to a single newline, but not always.

I have never had this before so curious why it is suddenly happening? At the moment it is only happening to internal company emails that are all hosted on O365.

Has anyone else seen this and how do I resolve it?

I am sending emails in Markdown.
