Name matching rules don't seem to work

Reported by Robert Goldman | January 5th, 2021 @ 04:06 PM

I have two rules in a ruleset that are supposed to match on names and that simply don't work. I can't tell why. A long time ago, we had some correspondence about this, but I lost the thread. Here's your last email:

I'm trying to throw away spam mails I get that come from "Apple TV App." But when I create a rule to delete them from my Inbox with the condition "From > Name" "is" "Apple TV App" (populated by the rules editor), and the action is "Delete", nothing happens when I apply the rules for the INBOX.

I have never successfully gotten a name rule to work, and I wonder if I'm just misinterpreting how they are intended to be used.

Seems like you do the correct thing. Try sending me this file:

~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist Then I'll take a look at it.

I'd like to attach that file, but lighthouse is saying that the upload quota has been reached for MailMate. I could just paste the whole file in here, but wanted to check first.

Thanks!
