New error message this morning

Reported by David Crippen | December 23rd, 2020 @ 04:17 PM

See below. I have no idea. Mailmate is frozen.

"The so-called UIDVALIDITY value of the mailbox “Contacts” has changed. MailMate has to resynchronize the mailbox, that is, purge the local cache and refetch the messages of the mailbox.

If this happens often then you should investigate the issue. Refetching messages is a very inefficient action.

Note: The option to “Always Resynchronize” only works until MailMate is relaunched".

You'll have to allow it to “Resynchronize”, but since the Contacts mailbox is likely not a real IMAP mailbox (it's a weird Exchange thing I don't really know why exists on IMAP), you can then permanently unsubscribe it using “Edit Subscriptions” in the IMAP account editor.

The UIDVALIDITY error might show up for other mailboxes in an Exchange server. There's not much I can do about that since it's a server issue.

Let me know if the above does not help.

Hi Benny, I'm relatively certain Pitt does not use IMAP and hasn't for years so I have no idea where to find “Edit Subscriptions” in the MAP account editor". I think they're using Outlook. I'd send you a photo of what all my sign-in data is but I can't find upload in this message

Outlook is Exchange which MailMate talks to using IMAP (which is the only thing MailMate understands). Go to “File > Edit IMAP Account > ...” in MailMate and look for the “Edit Subscriptions” button. It should work.

Use “Help > Send Feedback” within MailMate if you need to send me a screenshot.

Benny, I'm signed in and "HELP" allows me to attach a photo of my IMAP Account but won't send it. Says I'm not signed in but I am. It's telling me "Please try submitting your discussion again (you may have been logged out before submitting your comment)".
