Confim Reply to All

Reported by Leigh Stoller | July 18th, 2012 @ 03:13 PM

How do I turn off the dialog box that confirms reply to all?
See no mention in the preferences.

Another question; do you use imap idle? Also, is there a setting
for the new mail check period?

    • State changed from “new” to “resolved”

Look at the top of the Composer preferences pane (⌘,) and set the popup to “reply to all”.

Yes, IMAP IDLE is used for the INBOX of each account. Everything else is on a 10 minute schedule (not currently configurable). Some thoughts on the subject can be found in ticket #221. You are welcome to add comments to that ticket if you like.

I did that, but when I click the Reply button at the top it still asks me.

Hmm, the IDLE problem is bad enough, but not being to config a global timeout is really bad.

I am really trying to like MailMate, but the threading model is bizarre. I will start another thread about that soon.

Ah, I'm apparently assuming anyone using MailMate would use the shortcut (⌘R). At least anyone who would want to change the default setting.

The IDLE problem? MailMate does use IDLE and it is not possible to use IDLE for all mailboxes. Could you elaborate?

It would not be a problem to make a setting for how often to check mailboxes, but I would prefer a more flexible solution (or at least some kind of dynamic behavior). A check for new messages and flag changes is not a cheap/quick operation (at least in standard IMAP).

Thanks for trying out MailMate and I hope you'll get over the bizarre aspects. In any case, thanks for reporting the issues you found. Note that you can disable threading if you like (“View ▸ Organize by Thread”).
