External editor doesn't open if destination address not specified

- Specify an external editor (in this case, BBEdit).
- Open a new message window (File > New Message).
- Click directly into the message body pane.
Note that the external editor does not open. Editing continues in the MailMate message window.
- Open another new message window.
- Tab through the header text boxes (From, To, Subject) and into the message body pane.
Note that the external editor opens as expected.
So, apparently, MailMate is expecting the user to tab into the pane to trigger the external editor, whereas clicking in the pane does not trigger it.
