Mail mate hangs up since I've added an Office365 work account

I've added my work account to mailmate (an Office365 setup).
It connects to the server, mails are downloaded, but after a few
seconds the beachball of death appears and Mailmate will not
respond.
I have two major issues now:
* I can't remove the exchange account to get back to the previous
state (because the app stalls before I can access the account
management settings * I'm assuming it's hanging up because I'm
downloading a huge amount of data. Is there a way to stop IMAP from
downloading attachments?
