  Have you tried renaming them? It works for me...

  And yes, ~7000 messages should work fine for MailMate. I have 15000 myself which is fine as well. Not sure what the practical limit is.

  Yes, that works.

  I tried it with right-click - 'rename mailbox' is greyed out. Which is ok, since they don't qualify as such, do they?
  Perhaps worth to modify that menu for different folder types - I've got no idea how complicated that may be.

  Btw, is there a non-hack way to delete mailing lists (yet)? I've got some old ones I don't want to see but keep the mails.
  And reorder by alphabet would be fine.

  Fascinating I haven't since such an automatic mailing list 'aggregator' elsewhere. (New to Gmail, I wast... spent some time to construct tens of neat rules, just to emulate a feed reader. By now, I'm down to browsing All Mail from time to time, with or without search)

  Alphabetical again: they were reordered, but not after a mere restart of MailMate - the newly renamed ones keep their old place.

  Since I had several crashes yesterday, I can't tell when. Perhaps after a Mac restart.

  • State changed from “new” to “fixcommitted”

  Currently no explicit way to 'delete' a mailing list, but you can change the mailbox(es) from which the messages are found. Open the mailbox editor for Mailing Lists and change 'All Messages' to the mailbox (or a boolean combination of mailboxes) from which you want it to find messages.

  Alternatively and maybe easier, change the filter (conditions) for the mailbox and filter out any unwanted messages, e.g., based on their list-identifier. So, it would be something like:

  All of the following is true:
  list.identifier exists list.identifier != 'old-list-to-ignore' list.identifier != 'other-list-to-ignore' ...
