MM Footnote location, option to put footnotes before quoted messages

Problem description
When creating an email containing Multi-Markdown footnotes, the footnotes are included at the end of the message.
However, when replying to several email (which are all quoted
inline) the footnotes related to the reply are included
below all quoted inline messages.
The result is that the footnotes will potentially only be
read, when the footnote-links are used by the reader.
Potential resolution
My ideal location for MM footnotes would be directly after my reply (*before* all quoted inline messages)
Specific feature request
Hence I would request feature for footnotes similar to as the feature created for signatures, which can be inserted either at the top or at the bottom (which is explained ticket 249 ).
