Import to keychain doesn't import
Reported by Volker Kopetzky | September 22nd, 2017 @ 01:43 PM
I received an email with a new s/MIME certificate. MM is
displaying the green banner "Trusted signature for S/MIME
message."
- click on "Show Details" - click on "Import to Keychain"
Expected:
=> Certificate is shown in KeyChain Access => I can send an
encrypted email to the sender
Both do not happen. Ettemptig to encrypt shows the yellow error
banner "Unable to create S/MIME message".
Show Details then reports:
Failed to find valid certificate to encrypt for user@email.com.
The specified item could not be found in the keychain. (error code
-25300)
Any ideas?

I did make some changes to how importing works including fixing a security issue. In other words, it's possible that I've also introduced a bug.
Can you find the certificate in the Keychain Access application?
If possible, you can send me an example message using “Help ▸ Send Feedback” (drag and drop the email into MailMate).

Thanks for the example. I've found the issue and fixed it for the next release (probably a test release within a few days -- hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to fetch it).
Sorry about the inconvenience of this bug.

thanx, certificates are now imported, ticket can be closed.
PS: there is a "Upload Quota Reached" message and it also says that I'd have to inform you about it;)
Best,
Volker
