Badge Icon Translucent?
Reported by Anthony Craig | July 19th, 2017 @ 07:59 PM
The badge icon is not correct in Version 1.9.6 (5347).
It looks translucent and also less "bright" red:

It's partly because the dock icon counters in MailMate do not use the system provided API. This allows MailMate to have up to 4 counters (configured in the Counters preferences pane). Low level, it's possible to change the color, but I think the proper fix here is probably to let MailMate have a mode in which it does use the system provided counter.
I'll note this as a feature request, but I don't have any time frame for you.

It is surprisingly tricky, but in the next update I've attempted to make the primary counter look more like the standard one.
I have still not added a mode in which MailMate just switches to the standard badging and therefore I'm keeping the ticket open.

Caveat: I did this on Sierra assuming it's the same on High Sierra, but I haven't checked that yet.

Sounds good. When do you think the next update will be released?

Within a few days: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane. You'll need r5440+.

I've improved it a bit more such that it's now drawn almost identically to the standard badge.

Yoo! I can't believe I've been using MailMate since 2017.
Anyways, this translucent Dock Badge icon has returned. (I'm on the public Sequoia release.)

Also Benny, can you fix my "upload quota reached" thing? I think it's flagging my screenshots as spam or something?
