Opening multiple does not mark individual messages as read

I search for related messages. MM finds n messages. I select all of them and open. They open in a single window concatenated after each other. All fine until now.
Problem: MM fails to mark them as read as it would do if they are opened individually.
Yes, I waited long enough that even if MM waited (the number of messages)*(setting "Mark messages as read after x seconds"), they should have been marked as read.
I am glad that at least MM deletes all the individual messages when I delete the combo-message.
