Outbound mail stuck in Drafts, "Pending submission"
Reported by Gary Henderson | November 10th, 2016 @ 11:39 PM
Greetings!
I see this has been a topic in the past. Messages sent from two gmail accounts sit in drafts, "Pending submission". Restarting does not help, and retrieving from that IMAP account works fine. Is Mac OS still saying 'not available', and that's the problem? It just started recently, I think, but with no recent update to either Mac OS or Mailmate.
I'm on version 1.9.5, 5263, with Mac OS 10.11.

Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to get the latest test release. I've fixed some issues which could be related to these problems. You should get r5300.
Let me know how that goes.

Thanks, Benny. Now running on 5301. No change that I can tell. Creating email from one of the gmail accounts still leaves it in Drafts, pending submission.
Sending TO the gmail account works fine, so I assume the actual IMAP connection is OK.

Verify its SMTP settings via “File ▸ Edit IMAP Account ▸ ...”. You can also generate logs for me like this:
- Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0).
- Try sending an email.
- Use “Help ▸ Send Server Logs”.
This is only going to show something if MailMate actually tries to send it (which I'm not sure it does).

I think things have resolved. In spite of my earlier verification actions, it must have been a permissions issue. MailMate popped up a Google login/authorization box for an SMTP login, and after that step was completed, both of the problematic IMAP accounts have become functional. Obviously there's a link between the SMTP and IMAP services.
Older messages in the Drafts folder that are still trying to go were producing this message, but both old and new emails seem to be working fine now:
Server response: "J12 NO [ALERT] Cannot MOVE messages out of the Drafts folder (Failure)". Command attempted: "J12 UID MOVE 142 "[Gmail/Sent Mail]"".
Detailed logs show successful synchronization runs and ongoing successful item handling. Again, I think we're good. Thank you!

Thanks for the update. Just to be clear, this was the result of a MailMate bug. Sorry about that.
