Switching Spamsieve from Mail to Mailmate on the same Mac

Hi Support,
Apologies if this is blatantly obvious, but I can't find reference to it in the support documentation.
I'm using Mail on my Mac Mini to run SpamSieve as a drone - I access email from my MBP and iPhone when out of office (regularly). I want to use MailMate as the drone instead, as Mail seems very slow at training after waking up (I will submit a sample report next time this happens). Mail is my main email client, so this quickly becomes frustrating. I also prefer the integration MailMate has for SpamSieve.
Is it simply a case of turning off the Mail rules for SpamSieve and following instructions to set up MailMate as a drone (http://c-command.com/spamsieve/help/setting-up-a-mailmate-d)? I'm uncertain if anything needs to be done with the corpus - I'd rather not have to re-train SpamSieve!

This is probably a question for the SpamSieve developer (Michael Tsai), but I'm quite certain that the corpus should be completely unaffected by which email client is talking to SpamSieve.
Let me know if that does not answer your question.
