Question: Can I make this myself -- "Email statistics dashboard layout"
Reported by fnurl | January 7th, 2016 @ 02:23 PM
As I am using Gmail, I stumbled upon Gmail Meter.
I have seen the Visualize bundle (and I might just modify that), which generates a local file, but I was wondering if it would be possible to create a two pane layout with the mailbox selector retained on the left hand side, but with a web view that uses the right hand side. The right hand side panel would then show e.g. the file generated by the Visualize bundle. It would be fun to tinker with, and much nicer to run in MailMate since I also have accounts that are not gmail accounts.
Would if be possible to create such a dashboard in MailMate? E.g.
- a layout with a web View that shows can show a web page that is build when selecting the layout?
- a bundle that generates the file, but rather than show it in a browser, can create a "bundle layout" and show the data in MailMate that way?

No, it's not possible. It's something I put on my ToDo when working on the Visualize bundle. The idea was to let commands have an “html” output type and then let MailMate display the HTML -- possibly in a separate window, but it could also be within existing layouts -- or simply replace the message view. (I guess one could also allow a layout to specify that a command should be executed whenever the selection changes -- this would make it update dynamically. To some extent, this is more or less what happens already when displaying messages.)
Don't expect anything soon though. It's not currently a high priority.
