Formating Counters not working

When setting an alternativ formating for a counter, then these
changes are not showing up - it's always showing this
formating:
“${subject}” from “${from.name:${from.address}}”
I'm using MailMate Version 1.9 (5066) on Mac OS X Yosemite.

You have to hit enter in the text field to commit the change. Does that explain what you see?

yes, hitting enter in the field commits the change. But the changed phrase isn't shown up in the menu bar.

Note that the (horrible) GUI handles 4 different counters. Each dot to the left corresponds to 1 of 4 counters. Are you sure you are changing the counter displayed in your menu bar?
(I am taking you seriously, but I cannot reproduce any problems.)

Oh yes, you`re pretty right - I confused two dots with each other!

It's ok if you blame the GUI :-)
