Cached Read status

Reported by Leo Franchi | January 22nd, 2015 @ 05:05 AM

Hey folks!

First of all, thanks for the awesome email client. Happy customer here :)

This is how I use MM:

  • I have it running on both my home laptop and my work laptop, logged in to the same (gmail + gapps) accounts
  • I read email from both home (evenings) and work (daytime)

The issue I run into is this. If I leave my home computer on in the morning, with mailmate running, when I get back home that night all the email I received (and read), is still marked as unread at home. I imagine this is because MM fetches the email immediately when it's delivered, and never re-fetches the read status after I read the email from work.

Is there any way to force MM to re-fetch this? As it is now I have to remember to quit MM at home before leaving, and at work before leaving, otherwise I spend a few minutes marking a bunch of mailboxes as read.

Thanks in advance!

cheers,
leo

    • State changed from “new” to “duplicate”

If this is a Gmail account then it's a duplicate of ticket #939. Unfortunately it's unresolved. I describe a possible workaround, but it does not appear to be working and I need to do more debugging. Add yourself as a “watcher” of the other ticket.
