Sync preferences etc. across multiple devices

Hi,

currently I'm still using Apple's native Mail.app together with Indev's MailTags and Mail-ActOn, however, it's annyoing to reinstall or download explicitly the latest stable version to enable those plugins again after installing Apple's latest update. Also, Apple isn't able to provide a mail client which is good enough to send proper emails with layout. So I'm once again looking for an alternative client.

One of my most needs is that the new client should be able to sync preferences (like signatures) across multiple devices. Those plugins mentioned above are able to do so. So, my question is, is MailMate capable to provide some similar function?

If by “proper email with layout” you mean advanced HTML messages (fonts, colors, etc.) then MailMate is not for you. MailMate only offers the generation of HTML based on the Markdown markup language which offers emphasized text, bullet/numbered lists, inline images, simple tables, footnotes, and little more than that.

Sorry, MailMate cannot currently synchronize signatures (or tags, smart mailboxes, or any other settings). It is possible though to manually copy the files containing these settings (but you cannot sync them via, e.g., Dropbox). My plan for synchronization is to do it via the IMAP account(s), but implementation is at step 0 (which means don't expect it soon).

I'll put the ticket in the “accepted” state and use it to track progress on this (already planned) feature. It is more or less a duplicate of ticket #430 though.
